WHAT WE DO WITH YOUR DONATIONS

WHERE DO YOUR DONATION GO?

First, Hood Brook Apiary & Learning Center is always extremely appreciative of your donation of any size!  There is no such thing as a donation that is “too small!” All donations add up and are very helpful.  So, again, THANK YOU!

Second, at this time we ARE NOT a “non-profit organization. Until we recover from the disastrous 2021-2022 winter losses, we will continue working on building back what we had as our primary goal.  Once that happens, we will start doing the paperwork for becoming a 501 (c) (3) Non-Profit Organization.

Now, what happens to your donations, you ask?

There is always something that needs doing at an apiary. But some of the most important things your donations help with are as follows:

Winterizing Hives – Inspections, any necessary natural treatments for pests, hive wraps, insulation, feed, and more feed!

Equipment Repair & Upgrades – Fall and winter are when beekeepers spend a lot of time and money repairing or replacing hive boxes, frames, foundation, and more.

Building New Hive Stands – This is also the time we build hive stands for any new hives we get next year or any swarms we catch in the late spring and throughout summer.

New Equipment – Since we had to sell some equipment to reinvest in the apiary after our 1st-year losses, we now have to replace that equipment. Things such as an extractor, uncapping equipment, and bottling tanks.

Winter Damage – We hope for the best, but we always like to be prepared for any possible damage that winter may cause.

PLEASE DONATE

Please only donate what you can afford.  We truly appreciate any amount that you can manage.  There is no such thing as a donation that is “Too Small!”  Every penny counts and it all adds up and makes incredible things possible!

We Thank You and The Bees Thank You!
