Painted Hives

HIVE PAINTING GUIDELINES & INFO

NOTE: Hive Painting Is ONLY Available In The Foster-a-Hive Program

Hive painting IS NOT a competition.  You can do it yourself or have your children or grandchildren do it.  All Hive Painting must be done on the premises of one of our two locations: Pittsfield, Maine or Vassalboro, Maine.

Please bring your own paints & brushes!  (Hives are exposed to the weather year-round so be sure to get an easy clean exterior paint or paints).  We do not supply the paint or brushes.

Bring rags or something to clean up with if it gets messy.

You can paint anything you want as long as it is considered a “GA” Rating!  This means General Audiences.  NOTHING Political or Religious is Permitted. So, young children through adults will see your work.  Use your head and DON’T PUSH THE LIMITS!  One (1) warning is all you get before being refused to participate.  No Refunds!  Come on people, this should be an easy one to follow.

You don’t have to be Rembrandt or Picasso!  You can make it as simple as a solid color, a solid color with stripes, or very colorful with unique designs and images.  It’s up to you!

All Hive Paintings will be done outside, weather permitting, between May 25th and September 30th.

Hive Paints will be scheduled for a group size that works with each location.   Private Appointments are available for $25 where you can come alone and do your painting.   Private appointments MAY be available inside at the Pittsfield location year-round.
